Haven't been, but I suspect yes and yes, respectively. Apparently the store is three floors.

Yes, all of Canada's significant O&G players are based in Calgary, whether conventional, shale or oil sands.

Things have picked up as far as I know.

You two guys are bang on. As a person pretty deeply involved in the O&G sector, I travel between Calgary and Edmonton on a regular basis. It's definitely more white collar than Edmonton, but don't get your hopes up for a stylish, suave city. Bardamu has the typical Albertan pegged. I still get strange looks and the "what is that weird piece of silk hanging from your neck" (you mean my tie?) questions more than you could imagine. That being said, it can be a fun city if you don't mind snow, and are willing to drop a little dough in some questionable establishments....

That being said, how'd the interview go?

I actually didn't end up getting the job. Came out to Calgary a few weeks ago for the interview, and I found the place to be a bit miserable coming from NYC. Got in around 10pm at night and couldn't find a single place to eat - luckily found a shady looking Ethiopian place that was open so I didn't go to bed hungry.

Got a chance to check out Banff and Lake Louise, and that was really nice.

The opportunity lost isn't a big deal since after coming back to NY after the interview, I decided that even if I got an offer, I wasn't going to take it.

Wow, don't expect any fellow Calgarians to help you out. There was a fatal car crash with a body on the ground and they just drove right by. Nobody stopped or called 9-1-1. http://www.vancouversun.com/news/can...176/story.html

“There’s now a body on the roadway and the number of cars that just drive by (is) incredible. No one stops. We do not have an endless list of calls to 911 saying, ‘there’s been a collision,’” he said. “No one’s calling, no one’s stopping. Cars just brake and move out of the way.”
