NorCal: do you actually use that RL weekend bags on trips? I received and the thing is so massive! I dont know when i would ever even use it, even though the construction is amazing and it looks great. But its so huge i dont know when i would ever use it. it is huge...., and I own two of them, so obviously I'm a fan :-)
that said, I use it all the time for road trips - one is for clothes and the second for equipment - ski stuff, flyfishing, camping/hiking gear, etc
my wife's stuff also takes up any extra space in my bags, so consider that in the future you will be packing for two when you get married
as you get older you will only find more uses for larger bags (wait until you have kids!)
the quality of this bag is just amazing for the price, so think twice before giving it up would be my advice
