Most insensitive/a-holish way you've ever broken up with a girl?

I just discovered today that my little brother (18) broke up with his most recent girlfriend by simply not returning her calls or emails for two weeks straight, until she eventually "got the picture."

And I thought I was a cold blooded sumbitch. Worse I've ever done was a breakup by email (in fairness, she was out of the country and about a 12-hour time difference removed at the time).

I'm sure there are some equally heartless bastards on this board, so let's hear some stories. Also, what's considered the minimum level of acceptable etiquette in a breakup?

when I was 16 I had a girl that had a nice enough body, and was really into me, but was really annoying. I fooled around with her one evening for a while, then after that told her that we probrably shouldn't see each other any more. that was really not nice.

In college back in the 80s, one God's Gift to Women guy wrote on the markerboard on his dorm door something like this: "[Girl 1 -- girlffriend] if you are looking for me I am in [Girl 2]'s room."

This way, the whole world found out at the same time, FB style.

Was nice.

Ive done what you're brother did a number of times. I never really thought it was especially cold hearted. Of course, these were never really LTRs either.

But see, in this internet age where you can have a line of communication without getting too personal (ie wishing them happy birthdayon facebook) its much easier to remain cordial and friendly with an ex than in the past.

I should clarify that he'd been with this chick for 2 years (HS sweethearts; they even matriculated to the same college together).

I was at a pretty large high school party back when I was a junior in high school (was like 16 at the time). Everybody was pretty intoxicated and I had this one hot ass brunette who kept feeling up on me for about an hour straight. My girlfriend was due to arrive in the next hour and this brunette kept telling me to break up with her as it would 'be worth my while'. I had only been dating the one chick for about a month and I was in high school so I really didn't care. When my girl finally arrived and was walking up to the house, I got on a megaphone, stood on a chair on the front porch and screamed "Yo Katie, it's over!" This was in front of at least 20 people who all started laughing and screaming 'OHHHHHH' and shit like that. It was bittersweet. I got laid by the brunette but the next day when the alcohol wore off I realized that was pretty fucking retarded on my part and embarrassed the hell out of that girl. I apologized to her and we actually remained friends so it was all gravy in the end. Ahhh, the life of a high school kid residing in the Spring Break Capital of the World.

I think it is difficult to break up with someone because due to liking you they will try to make it work. SO, sometimes an email or phonecall is the best way to do it.

A lot of break-ups are causeed by people having a short-term view when tey enter a relationship (like, they don't think about if they want to be with thgat person 5-10 years down the road - it is just based on liking the person right now).

Also, with any partner you also get involved with their family, friends etc - and that alone can be really tedious (just look at movies that makek fun of partners families).

I moved without telling her, and cut all contact. I was like 15 at the time, but I still feel horrible about that. She was really caring with me, and didn't deserve that shit. I don't know why I did that. I am still somewhat heartless with women, but no longer at that level. I treated her like she meant nothing to me, and that just wasn't the case.

Took her virginity (was still a virgin myself at the time). Had sex a couple more times after that, but it quickly became apparent to me that I wasn't as into her as she was into me. Returned texts while on vacation, but didn't seek contact myself.

Dumped her two minutes after she gave me my birthday present, then took her to a local bar.

Situation was like this.

"We're done, it's not fun anymore..." (her crying).... " Uhh, can I have my shirt back?"

Slashed her tires after a car chase in New Orleans, LA (we both lived in Richmond, VA at the time so her appearance was more than unexpected). One tenacious bitch. She called recently, apparently 'reformed' but, I am terrified that she is going to be around every corner in Mexico City. Mi vida loca, indeed.

i devirginized a college freshwoman (whatever they are called) while a jr. and felt obligated to date her for a month. i broke up with her while i was inside her and said this was the last time we'd be doing this.
