This HBO series is going to be amazing.

Pre-ordered the next book on Amazon.

Going to have to re-read the series again.

The series is only going to deal with book 1 for this season, right? No sense in filling my my head with useless details until its closer to book release time.

Yeah, and it looks like Amazon dropped the price a bit as well. The blog says $23 for pre-orders but as of today the Amazon pre-order price was only $19. Not a bad deal, especially if you have Amazon Prime so shipping is free.

Sigh.... I want to watch this.... which means I'll have to read the books. I've been putting them off for awhile now, despite my brothers frequent endorsement.

Side note: The author looks exactly as I pictured him.

George RR martin declared that July 12, 2011 for sure Dance of Dragons was coming out.

Very excited about this series. Should be excellent

I've got like half an inch left to read from A Storm of Swords. I never really messed with fantasy stuff, but this is honestly way too juicy. Love it.

where2kop slim fit chain mailz and Valyrian steel?

Longclaw or Ice?

Yeah, true fanboy status here. Not gonna lie.

Btw, he wrote the last book in the series in 07 but it's not yet published or just getting published. I've read all 5-6 books so far and will be glad to get some of these story threads resolved.

Is the first book a good read // should I read the first book before watching the show?

I honestly can't even remember what the hell is going on in the series. Long breaks like this make me really hate Fantasy series. Plus, there's always the possibility (this is Martin after all) that he won't resolve SHIT and we'll still be waiting for juicy details into book 6.

There are four books out right now. The fifth is coming out on July 12, 2011 and is not finished yet. There are seven books planned for the series.
