Tell me about Red Moon wallets - Page 4

i won't use mink oil or neatsfoot. i am holding out for pecard's dressing----available at david morgan. check out the leather care tips on that site. killer. (imagine i used caps)

bacterial cultures from neatsfoot oil

I don't know if I trust that site, they're clearly trying to sell their own brand of leather oil
post #48 of 148
Does that mean you only buy from people that aren't trying to sell you something?

I like Obenauf's, it doesn't feel as greasy as Pecards.

Do you use O's leather oil or the Heavy Duty LP? Thank you for the link!
I use the LP on everything, a little goes a long way. For my boots I use the LP every three months or so, and the oil every month, but my boots live a hard life.

Ok, I ordered the HR-01A, and I gotta say, what's all the huh, bub? I'm not really feeling it, so far everyone that has looked at it said it looks like a womans wallet. eh

Here's my f-ed up knock-off. I've had it for about two months and have been wearing it to work (construction), so it gets pretty dirty. The back is stained very badly from my jeans and I just got a stain of unknown origin on the front. The front stain is actually kind of cool, but I would like to know how to get rid of the indigo. I tried saddle soap but that didn't do anything. Suggestions?

Whoa! I washed my wallet with a damp sock and a squirt of Dr. Bronners, suprised how much indigo stained the sock. Followed up with an application of Obenaufs.

Do they sell red moon looking wallets on Canal street? I don't like to support bootleggers AT ALL. But I can't see myself paying more than $20 - $30 on a wallet that i'll only use (and probably rarely at that) as a fashion accessory. What's a good cheap wallet? Good in looks more important than good in quality at this present moment.

Maybe one day I'll pull the trigger on a 'real' wallet.

I was justed pointed in this direction...

http://www.leathergoodsconnection.com/trandbiwa.html

Other than these trucker wallets (ponderosa), they have some normal unfinished, undyed leather wallets that are like 29.95.

Truestorytravis, what kind is your wallet? I wouldn't mind getting a knockoff myself, with that grommet.
