Got me an AU IS01 yesterday. Not bad, but pisses me off they decided this month not to release android 2.1 firmware for it because they are launching an updated version with 2.1 built in. BUT for 8 yen a month (like 10 cents), and no other fees since I will be using it on WiFi and didnt get a phone number for it, its a steal.

its an Android Smartbook. Not quite a smartphone (has phone functions, but look at the damn thing, look like a tard holding it to my head and I refuse to wear a bluetooh headset), and not quite a netbook. Has a pretty high rez screen (940x480), OneSeg Tv tuner, bunch of other crap to make it useful around my house. I think Ill use it for my bedroom and kitchen more than anything.

Just pretend like you are trying to explain it to someone in Spokane.

That's kind of cool. Would you compare that to anything here stateside?

Bud Light or Keystone is more Spokane. When you can get a 30 Stone for $9 at the corner store off Division you know you gotta good Friday night planned. Stateside, its kinda like an updated HTC Tilt. Its runnin a 1ghz Snapdragon with a big multitouch screen. I really think if I could get 2.1 or 2.2 on it, it will feckin scream, not to say that 1.6 is a slug on it at all. You can import them as they are EVDO Rev A compliant or the DoCoMo version is the other 3G compatible. I think they are like $250 through importers.

I cant get over how much that girl looks like one of my friends who has had a tendency to grope/crawl all over me when I am drunk. Trying to get her to go out with me to a bar tonight, she doesnt know that I am single now and she is leaving for Singapore next month. I think a Fish/barrel situation is forming.

Totally loving the Galaxy S. Still having that slight problem with the email client (only Inbox is auto-pushed out to phone, sub-folders I have to actually open for them to check). Not going to venture off the factory client yet.

LaucherPro, love it. Reminds me of 1990s Linux with the virtual desktops. Dropbox = awesome. Google Earth rocks it, the Google starmap is great. Love Sense Clock app.

It's just all good except for a slightly less robust email vs. the Berry.

Oh, and as an actual phone? Excellent quality, much better than my old Storm.

Word on the street is yes, but its a bit more tough as its rom locked. I gotta revert it to an older version of the carrier software and then I can root it.

Does that starmap thingy work like the app on the iPhone where you can point it at a constellation and the phone will tell you which one it is?
