AMOLED is killer. Also worth noting: results are with the phones at 40% brightness, no GPS, no wifi, no cell location and no auto sync.

Dang! I'm interested in seeing what froyo does for the time, though I'm sure the incredible will still be at the bottom of the pile.

Seidio has a 1750 mAh battery that fits with the stock backplate for $41 on Amazon. That should put it at the top.

Most EVO owners are reporting a decrease in battery life with Froyo.

Dunno if that holds true (or will hold true) for other phones.

My good friend rooted and installed Froyo on his Incredible and said he got at least a 30% increase in batt life using the stock battery. He opted to not run sense though...

i am using a droid 1. i rooted and overclocked and put on a custom rom. it works great and i love it. my girlfriend recently ditched her iphone for a droid 2 and loves it. i say look into the droidX or droid2. the samsung galaxy and HTC EVO are both good as well. just depends which carrier you want to go with

I'm loving the Galaxy S. My son is actually pissed that I am using his phone now more than my iphone. Haven't timed tge battery but has not been an issue. The camera is also great.
This was a quick pic I took.

I've been looking in to a Droid X. My wife has a Droid 1 and really likes it but I like the bigger screen on the X. But I want to wait till it comes with Android 2.2.

I have several friends with the iphone and all like it but I can't take the hit to cancel my contract with Verizon to switch to AT&T.

The battery life on my Evo improved tremendously with the update to 2.2. Honestly it really isn't that bad, surfing the web just eats battery. The one I picked up on launch had a speaker that blew rather quickly and white dots from the backlight as a result of scrolling. I got that one replaced and the one I was given barely vibrates though it is the same hardware and software revision (0002/2.2). I went into the Sprint store on the 31st to check out the Epic4G, and my god was I blown away. It was way slimmer than I thought from photos and the SuperAMOLED screen was gorgeous. I just ordered mine (my boss actually got his today [he thinks it is too big, he, "feels like he is carrying a PSP"], my mom ordered hers today also) so hopefully it will be here tomorrow or Saturday at the latest. Honestly, I think HTC is amazing (oh yeah, an HTC fanboy ), and IMO, Sense provides a great user experience (went from WM6.5 w/Sense to 2.1/2.2 w/ Sense). I find it to be the most mature and tasteful manufacturer skin, but TouchWiz didn't seem too bad. I can't compare the cameras or anything right now, but i'll upload a few shots for comparison once the Epic gets here.

downloading torrents from my phone, hell yeah

I've seen a huge increase in battery life on my DInc since the 2.2 update earlier this week. I really wasn't expecting much of a change, but it has been significant in my case.

I've been running the 2150mah battery for the last few weeks, but am considering switching back to a slimmer battery considering the increase in lifespan. AS long as I can make it from one morning through a night out on a single charge I will be happy.

After research it looks like the Galaxy S will be my next phone. I considered the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 (supposed to have a fantastic camera) and the Apple Iphone4. Excited for a new one after 3 years with my current Samsung.
