My sister took me to Alto yesterday for lunch. It was the best food i have ever had but that would be obvious since i'm a poor college student with parents who almost live pay check to pay check. I had beef tartare for appetizer, pasta with veal ragu for entree, and chocolate cheesecake with vanilla ice cream. Sister had asparagus soup, sea bass?, and panna cotta. We shared all the dishes. My favorites were the pasta and panna cotta. My sole reason for being rich would be to be able to eat at amazing restaurants regularly. First time i went to a high class place like this.

Indeed, I am spoiled though. . ."Tasty Hand-Pulled Noodle" is 1 minute from my office. . .$5 for lunch, great on a cold day!

Thanks for the rec. Noodles were good but the soup not so much. I'll have to try the dry version next time.

Extended until Sept 6th!

I forgot about restaurant week this year and will have to try out a couple of places.

gdl RE: Dovetail - I think it would be a good restaurant week place to check out. I've read some good reviews of their RW offering this summer and the price point is hard to beat. I was not blown away on my visit, but I don't have any qualms about recommending it for RW.

To be honest, I'm getting rather tired of tasting menus and tiny portions. My GF and I have decided to focus on the more traditional 3 courses and hope for a more fulfilling meal overall. Table 21 at Volt was probably the overkill that pushed us over the edge haha.
