Just the clarify a few things that I mentioned earlier, but maybe were slightly mis-interpreted. - the white speckled mirror with the sonic brushes isn't really THAT bad (I don't know how it's possible to brush properly with your lips closed by the way) - again, the literature is divided on overall efficiency between the "major players" (remember, this is science guys, not anecdotal evidence) - battery fade has never been a noticable problem for me with various brushes over 7 or so years - slow/gentle settings are useless (I'd never suggest using them), just use light pressure and replace your extra-soft heads likely 4 times per year - technique (i.e. quality) and frequency (i.e. quantity) is still critical despite these cleaning aids - if you are a good brusher and don't rush your brush, I'd suggest the sonic; otherwise, I'd suggest the "back-and-forth" (rotational) oscillating models - once you use one of these brushes, you'll never go back; there is a slight learning curve (i.e. learn to let the brush do the work, just "place" the brush in the right spot, then move it every 5 seconds or so) - depending how close you are to your dentist, I'd approach him/her first (they may be willing to do your a favor and hook you up in some way) - if you travel (especially by air) frequently, be cautious of the brush getting turned on accidentally in your bag - the security will go crazy and you'll have a dead brush (hard cases do exist, but they're hard to track down)
