Should things be sold in B&S WITHOUT sellers making profits? - Page 2

It depends on what you're selling, if you're cleaning out your closet you're probably just looking to get rid of some stuff and get a bit of money for it as opposed to just tossing them in the donation bin.

But if you picked up a pair of Brioni pants at Goodwill for $1.99 (the thrift bragging thread in MC makes me cry) and flip them here for $50, then of course you'll be making a profit (and whomever buys them is getting a pair of Brioni pants at an amazing price).

Either way, I don't see an issue with sellers trying to make a profit in B&S. If it's a rare item in high demand, then someone will snap it up right away. If it's not, then price drops will eventually bring the item in line with what it's 'worth' here.

Exactly. I don't see why this is a problem at all. IMO the only issue is if someone say camps out in front of uniqlo to buy everything at once and then resell for twice the retail or something like that. That's a bit lame because without the crazy resellers, collab drops at h&m/uniqlo and stuff like that wouldn't be such a madhouse and it'd be all the people who really just want to wear the clothes

The word wouldn't be profit, but salvage.

You're not getting all of what you paid back, but you're salvaging something back on B&S, which is better than nothing.

I bought a pair of shoes several months back, but they didn't fit, so I relisted them at the same price I paid, without including the price for shipping. I did this because I didn't want the deal I got on the shoes to decrease because of the added cost to ship these shoes one more time. It just bugged me to think of these shoes' price going up and up because they continually did not fit the new owner and thus had to be shipped over and over again.

yes i think peoploe should be allowed to make a profit, but i also think its acceptable for people to point out in the thread that its potentially a rip off or there is a better deal elsewhere

I never make a profit on the items I sell here. At best its a break-even.
