My pair of Levis recently suffered a crotch tear, and I would like to have them patched. I have some similar color fabric for the patrch, but is there anything I should know before taking the jeans to a tailor?

Also, if anyone has recommendations for tailors in the DC area who are good hands at denim surgery, send them my way.
