Irritated spots while shaving, HELP!

Folks, I would like to have your help please. Due to my sensible and soft skin, I always get irritated spots while shave my neck. I´ve been told it´s due that I push too much in my neck area. Others that it´s due to the nature of my skin. Others that I should use a defoliant weekly. I shave with $$ biotherm for sensible skin foam. I dislike fat aftershaves that let the collars of my shirts greasy so I don´t use any. Help please !

Give us more information. What is your pre and post shave routine? What brand of razor are you using? What is your technique (number of passes, with the grain or against, etc)?

Gillete 2 blades, I shave every 2 or 3 days, blond, soft skin, one pass each.

I´ll post pictures tomorrow, it gives me error today.

Thanks!

I use Shick ST2 Slimtwin disposable razors and a bit of hot water on my face to soften my beard, then some Everyman Jack face lotion from Target instead of shaving cream. And I shave against the grain. I never get irritated.

I get this too

Shave upwards on the neck, downwards on the face.

-Shave at night so you can use aftershave as you sleep

-Only shave down, not up

-Hot cloth of near boiling water to the neck before shaving

-Use a DE blade that is not aggressive.

-Moisturize the neck before shaving, and use pre-shave oil

Personally I'd shave after taking a hot shower (don't dry off your face) and use a DE razor with a blade that works for you (you'll have to experiment), shave with the grain letting the razors weight do the cutting instead of applying pressure and when you're finished use some witch hazel.

Oh, this is the contrary to the other poster!

I can´t shave before sleep as I only shave after I shower just when I wake up, with the face still wet and aply the foam for 5 minutes.

I put the blade on very hot water, I have tried it and seems better than with hot water. Shaves better.

What I am doing wrong?

Nothing.

You can try different shaving techniques, lotions, alum blocks, pre-shave oils, yada yada... these may minimize the irritation, but nothing will eliminate them (or best manage them) except one thing: laser hair removal. Get a couple of sessions just enough to minimize the coarseness of the hair. If you doubt it, get one session and see what happens. Guaranteed they will disappear.

You're not using enough defoliant, use more. I think Agent Orange can be had on the cheap these days.

Nice trick , but I prefer some natural products not that laser thing.

What about some moustard gas ?
That's just being ridiculous, mustard gas is not a defoliant.

This man knows what he is talking about. I had sensitive skin when I was a teen and would often get razor bumps until someone told me to stop shaving upwards. I have not had a problem since. I am sure the other stuff helps, but try this first. You might be surprised.
