Replacing an original hem?

If a second-hand pair of jeans have been altered without keeping the original hem, can a tailor match the color of the string and replace it or no?

Mostly in regards to a pair of Dior's I'm looking at that, for some reason, were altered without keeping the original hem. No idea why.

Yes they can match...but it won't look legit!

And when you say that, who would be able to tell? Anyone, or just an SFer? Would the color contrast be super obvious?

Color contrast will/could be exact. The thing is making back the hem at the bottom of the pair of jeans NEVER looks the same. It's not the color of thread, it's recreating the "original" hem.

If I ended up getting them, would I be better off leaving them as they are, with no original hem? Or should I still try and get it replaced?

It can be done and we are capable of doing it! We have worked on plenty of Dior denim and have the thread in stock. Just pm me if you need our assistance.

If you want to recreate the hem as close to the original as possible, you should go someone who knows denim and not just a tailor. I assume any denim store (Selfedge, BIG, etc.) could do it and I would contact whoever is closest or most convenient.
