Thursday 11th was really wild wasnt it. I took my stormshield off my golf bag and decided I would try to use that against the weather. I also texted my near neighbour and asked her if she wanted me to collect her from her house so we walked together to the station with both of us hanging on to the shaft and cover of the umbrella to try to keep it facing the wind. Even with two of us holding it, the umbrella blew out a couple of times but fortunately wasnt damaged so we struggled our way to the station. Did you get caught in the stormy deluge last night Steve? I had been for some post-work drinks in a bar in Brighton, and it was dreadful when we left - sheets of rain swirling in all directions on gale force gusts. I had my solid stick Brigg with me, and just about managed to hang on to it as I walked home - some of the gusts were really blowing me to a standstill though, with the Brigg in front of me like a shield, and it needed a tight grip in both hands to keep it under control...
