New at Jantzen - Irish Linen - Page 2

While I have been very happy with what all 6 of the shirts I have recieved from Jantzen, I am very frustrated with the lack of customer service. I understand that they run a busy shop and that internet orders are not their first priority, blah blah blah. Personally, I am starting to explore other options.

You might get your shirts in 6 weeks. give or take.

Conservative estimates place delivery time within 4-6 weeks after you order. As it has been stated before, you don't get an email confirmation. I have yet to order, and am deciding if it is worth it or not.

i doubt things would change in their operations. ricky and his cohorts are still as busy as ever with walk-in clients, and as i've noticed before, the laptop in their store, although open is barely touched. i suggest you give ricky a call.

Not unusual in Austin. I've seen people wear linen year round here.

I don't usually wear linen shirts beyond September, but I have a couple of darker ones I might wear in October. I try to avoid linen pants in September, but on the hotter days I will wear darker linen pants.

Placed an order around July 10. Got a confirmation email this past weekend saying the shirts will be sent ASAP.

I also placed my first order on July 6th, received an e-mail from Ricky on July 22nd saying that they would send it out ASAP as well. The order was for only a single test shirt and from all the back threads I have read it seems like these are always handled pretty quickly. I could see how I could get addicted to these shirts pretty easily if they are as excellent as everyone has stated. Any idea if ASAP means the shirt is finished and will be sent out to you shortly, or does this mean, "yes, we have received your order and we hope to start making it soon"?

Same here. From past experience, if the shirts were close to completion Ricky would send a more concrete response along the lines of "we'll ship your shirts by the end of the week" or something like that.

Agreed with everything stated above. I just placed my 2nd order on the 18th. I received an email from Ricky yesterday stating he received my order. I expect them in 4-6 weeks. You never know though.

I ordered April 8 on the web and never heard anything. Faxed several weeks ago asking that they confirm receipt of the order. Still nothing. Tried calling last night but the person who deals with internet orders wasn't in. I'll try again tonight but I'm not that hopeful.

You didn't drop odoreater's name, did you? Guilt by association.
By all means try calling to get ahold of Ricky (I think he comes in a bit later), but for my mental tranquility I prefer the watched pot approach. Just forget completely about your order, and then one day out of the blue you'll get a nice present . . .
But anyway, good luck.

In my experience, turn around time is usually 2 to 2.5 months on average.
A confirmation e-mail back from Ricky is usually a good sign.

FWIW, I received today a five-shirt order placed July 10 (confirmed by Ricky about 10 days or 2 weeks ago). Also, I placed early last week a one-shirt order for a linen shirt and received the confirmation email today. Maybe they've made some progress in reducing their backlog?
Will report (in a new thread, probably) on how the shirts look when I got them home (last order, which took ages to come, had a few "missed" items like forgetting the monogram and putting side placket buttons on two shirts where I reqeusted none).

I placed an order for two linen shirts right after this thread got started. They arrived today along with six other (for a total of eight!) shirts I had ordered previously but assumed I'd never hear about again. Thankfully it is still linen weather in LA.

Nothing feels better than the surprise Jantzen arrival.
