The Fearless Project

Since most of you miss me and this gets more action than the art & culture section (how pedestrian of you all!) I decided to post this here.

"When we fear things I think that we wish for them...every fear hides a wish."--David Mamet

The Fearless Project is an art and cultural initiative bringing together artists, outsiders, thinkers, musicians, designers, writers, creatives: anyone who has ever had the urge to do something outside of their comfort zone. The Project celebrates the bold, the creative, the dearing.

I try to curate atmospheres that explore our own individual boundaries and personal limits through art installations, editorials, collaborations, fan submissions, video and more.

Also there is the Frank Yamrus series "Rapture" which was shot more like formal portraits: http://www.clampart.com/artists/yamrus/yamrusrp.htm

Stuart Sandford (who actually is a contributor to the show) has Cum Faces which was rather popular and was similar in look and style to Beautiful Agony: http://www.stuartsandford.co.uk/2004-2007/cumfaces/

My interpretation with having shot about 80 people myself was to create (w/ the help of Polaroid format film) a catalogue or documentation of all of these guys. There also lends an voyeuristic and ambiguous aspect to it as the imagination runs wild since you just see a close cropping of the face vs. on a pillow, in the shower, etc. So the way it is shot and formatted de-sexualizes it in a way and it's then the viewers mind that allows it to become as sexual as they want with their own ideas of the means for the end they are looking at.

There was also a guy that did a thing in Wallpaper interviewing people about/filming them get off to their favorite porno, I can't remember his name.

I'm sure there are other people that have done something around an orgasm, would you like me to pull up more?

Actually, I think there HAS been... But uniqueness in art is kind of overrated. It's more about the reinterpretation and of the process, as SoCAL pointed out.

Besides, I was just poking a little fun, no harm!
