Todd Shelton jeans (review and a question) - Page 4

I've had nothing but good experiences with Todd as well. There were times when the version of the shirt I ordered wasn't in stock and he said it would be a couple or few weeks wait but other similar styles were available. He also does a follow-up email after a few days/a week to ask how things fit. But there's something here I'm not getting about some of these complaints. If you can find superior imported materials to make a product using superior/domestic manufacturing why would you not buy the product? I would certainly buy premium denim jeans from the US because we do still make, albeit in smaller quantities that Japan, some of the best denim out there. I'd be more likely to buy a cashmere sweater (made of Scottish cashmere), assembled domestically, knowing that superior cashmere isn't made in the US but at the same time am very much into spending my money domestically. I'm not certain whether people realize it or not but the profit lies more with manufacturing than it ever could with raw materials. Hence $10 for a bucket of popcorn at a movie theater. I don't really give a shit who likes the popcorn analogy but raw material+labor=finished product. If anyone here wanted to know about Todd's materials it's on his site. But to badmouth the man when you don't know anything about him is straight bitch. Anyone who buys a Ford or Chevy and thinks that it's a completely American-Made vehicle (using Japanese/Chinese/Mexican parts) is fooling themselves. So the comparison to buying a Ford using Honda parts doesn't really apply. The difference would just be that the Ford was built using parts designed in the US but quite possibly made in Japan not using parts from another car. And yeah, there is a difference.

Because in the case of denim, US manufacturing is not superior - the Japanese do it better in most aspects (with the exception of a few~~~ ROY denim for example!)
