I'm using CytoSpot Cytogainer and ON 100% Whey gold standard. I haven't cracked open the ON stuff yet. I think the cytogainer is ok, it's just nasty in water and too sweet. I'm sure it would be better in milk.

I was also told to try blending it with frozen fruit. I'm gonna get a blender and try it.

You fellows will probably give this a big YUCK but . .

I've tried to get on the Zone diet a bit. And this is the breakfast mix that just about fits:

1/2 cup old fashioned oats
1 cup water
Zap for 2.5 minutes

Then add 2 tbsp fruit bits
2 packs splenda
1 1/2 tbsp olive oil
Mix that up
Then a scoop of the MLO egg and whey protein powder.

The olive oil makes the fruit taste a bit like fruit.

Vary the water to get the consistency that you want.

Second the muscle milk opinion. It's a casein protein powder though so it's best taken at night, i'm not sure if that's what you're looking for. You use two fat scoops for one serving of muscle milk so it doesn't last that long. I have mocha joe and creme brulee, creme brulee is great. Optimum nutrition chocolate is alright, it doesn't taste bad, just bland. I usually take that after the workout.

I use protein powder from Costco. Very inexpensive and low sugar. It comes in vanilla and chocolate.

ON 100% Chocolate is they way (heh, whey, way ) to go. It's easily the best protein for the money. I mix it with water most of the time to keep calories more under control, but mixed with some skim milk it tastes exactly like chocolate milk. Avoid the ON Vanilla at all costs though - it's disgusting.

I just tried each of the powders i bought with 1% milk and they're WAY better than with water.Thank god. I still have some work to do on my diet though. It's hard to get in 6 meals a day after my first two. I'm trying to minimize the number of shakes i need to drink per day. Would be nice to eat real food once in a while.

EDIT: I'm probably gonna buy some muscle milk for before bed. I was originally planning on using cottage cheese for that meal. But I ate 250gr of low fat cottage cheese last night and it was disgusting. There's no way i could do it every night.

The strawberry is great!

The cottage cheese goes down much easier mixed with some chopped fruit.

I made the mistake of buying the ON Vanilla Ice Cream thinking it'd be a simplified version of their kick-ass Cookies'n'cream. Boy was I wrong... ON's chocolate mint's taken a while for me to get used to as well. I think with any powder, the secret is to add some bit of milk to it to improve taste. I usually with a 80% water/10% non-fat mix which usually does the trick.

Very true, I was going to recommend that; I usually have to mix w/ non-fat milk or soy milk because water literally makes me gag when mixed with protein.....oh god, just thinking about it is making me sick.

If you're trying to gain weight try this:

1 cup of Dole orange-pineapple-banana juice;
1 heaping tablespoon of protein powder;
1/2 to 3/4 banana (crucial for the texture and taste);
breyers natural vanilla bean (real vanilla flecks) to your taste and your preference for thickness in the drink.

Drink it with your regular meals. I guarantee you'll gain weight and it tastes great. I used to drink it but my metabolism started slowing down. Had to stop.
