Official new iPhone 4 - Page 133

the vlc app plays all formats no need to bother converting etc
post #1982 of 2394
Did you download VLC recently? I thought they took VLC Player off of the App Store (still have my copy, though)
VLC's been off for relative ages, I wish I knew about it (and downloaded it) when I could have done it. Now I've missed the boat.

Though 2 apps that seem to work pretty well for whatever video formats you throw at them are called 'It's Playing' and 'Ace Player'. I don't own an ipad btw only iphone.

Are you pressing the home button? That seems weird. Maybe a glitch?

That feature can be turned off through the Settings I believe.

Do you guys jailbreak your phones? What's the benefit?

I know its not out for iOS5 yet but I was curious about it now that I've finally got the fucking thing.

all apps free, you can dick around with the system and have things completely customized. It's cool, but not worth it regarding the warranty being voided. I don't know if there's a way to reverse it (people always say there isn't and it's permanent) but if there was, it'd be worth it completely.

after a grueling two weeks of testing this battery, i'm convinced i have a lemon. it's fucking horrible. i've done everything possible to improve it. i've turned off everything and still drains like crazy. i've read every theory on what may be causing it from icloud to Siri to individual settings. i was told some setting in location services may be the culprit, but we'll see. if a concrete solution doesn't arise, i'm going to swap it out.

case in point - in the few minutes it's taken me to type this, it's drained 4%. i'm down to 80% remaining (1.5 hours since i took it off my charger) and have only used twitter and email lightly.

I jailbroken the iPhone I had, was completely reversible by going into recovery mode and restore original firmware from iTunes. But that was the first generation iPhone though, maybe different now.

it is possible to do a tethered jailbreak for iOS5 though it's probably inconvenient on an iPhone because if your device has to be rebooted and no computer nearby then...there's also a semi-untethered release. all means the untethered is on its way soon.

i had jailbroken it before, pretty much what 187 said about benefits, is ok but really how many useful apps you gonna download that you can't contribute 5-10$ so i don't think i will do it again for the new os
