The only reason I could see them doing a change to the next iPhone's appearance is to further distance themselves from the whole "antenna gate" issue they had when iPhone 4 launched. That was a lot of bad PR and I think the phone still has a bad reputation in this area with casuals.

They redesigned the iPad 2. Now they have had an extra 3 months or more for the release of the new iPhone. Just sayin.

The iPad 2 is slightly thinner, but it's still glass on aluminum back. The general look has not changed.

Ummm...cameras, color options, improved speakers...not going to list them all but you might have missed a few things.

It will be probably the iPhone 4GS and not 5.

It will probably be two iPhones. iPhone 4S like the ones issued to devs, and iPhone 5 newly designed phone.

I would also hold the seat for a possible appearance by Sprint since Apple did hire a mobile carrier engineer to work at their headquarters, most likely to work on making a compatible phone with their network and to consult back with Apple concerning it.

Those aren't updates to the iPad's form. How do new speakers (they aren't improved at all, sorry), two colors, or cameras equal a change in the iPad's physical shape?

There are still no convincing rumors to indicate a new physical shape for the iPhone 5. All credible rumors suggest an incremental update (dual-core CPU, better camera, dual antenna), and those suggesting otherwise are poor sources (one analyst predicting a revamped 5 also predicted a retina screen for iPad 2).

Better yet: would you bet money on a full redesign? I sure wouldn't.

i don't think both 4S & 5 will be coming out most likely apple would have to make room for a lower priced 4 like the 3gs.....

I can't decide if I'll upgrade my phone this fall or wait for the next revision. I'll probably upgrade. The 3GS is nice but my touch screen goes unresponsive intermittently and the battery life of the newer phone is very tempting.
