Lots of votes here for SD and SoCal. Interesting.

So the hypothetical person in this hypothetical scenario is looking at a income increase which has opened further possibilities and has decided to maintain residences in Southern California (LA) and DC rather than move to one particular area. Goal is to split time between coasts.

The hypothetical person now needs to get a hypothetical private jet.

A big shout out to the big apple. As long as you have no kids to worry about its just about the best place to spend your twenties.

i live in new york and wish i had more time to enjoy it. it's expensive though. definitely doable if single and making 150-200k though. have also lived in chicago, dc, boston, and charlotte. love chicago and charlotte. charlotte could be where i end up. great weather all year. close enough to both the mountains and the ocean. gorgeous southern girls. shit, typing this really makes me want to move back. although, if i didn't work my hours, i would be loving new york more, i'm sure. work sucks.

Seattle, WA or SF, CA or Boston, MA. I can't afford any at the moment so I live in the Rustbelt (cheap). I'd try Seattle first.

Your location is therefore largely irrelevant for work purposes as you won't be trying to find a job in local industry and you make enough $ to live at least comfortably in most locales though probably not extravagantly.

3. You are 25-30 and would ideally like to move to a place where building a new social life of your peers would be more naturally occurring than a stretch (e.g. major metropolitan area).

4. You would like to avoid Washington DC and the surrounding areas.

Given the chance to pack up and move, where would you relocate to in the United States, and why?

Hmmm... Vegas. Party everyday! LOL!
