Sheer/faded t-shirts?

I posted a question in the AAQGAA thread to no response, so I figured I'd make a thread.

I have seen some really cool kind of sheer t-shirts in Details etc. Problem is these tees run from at least $100 and beyond, and only come in white.

American Apparel has some, and thankfully they're down the block so I can check them out in person... I've seen some stuff online as well, but only from wholesalers. So basically I want to know where else I can get some of these shirts. I have a t shirt from 1982 that describes what I want to a "T"... I will post pics when I get home.

alternative apparel has "burnout" shirts that sound similar to what you are talking about. i tend to feel about these type of shirts the way i feel about pre-distressed denim - kind of takes the fun out of it.

It would take decades of wear to get a normal t-shirt to how I want it.... AA has what I want. Gonna snag some after work.

i cant say enough about alternative apparrel t shirts. either crew or v neck ( i prefer the v necks for now).
such great solid colors. nice slubby texture to some of mine. and the cuts are perfect.

How much are they, and where can I go to try one on? I saw their collection and it looks good, but I can't buy clothes without seeing + trying them on in person.

im not really sure where you can find them in lots. i found a few at a Loehmann's and a few basic ones at a bloomingdale's?
however the prices are about the same whether you go there or through the guy who used to sell it here but doesnt anymore. through him, you could get the whole catalog. however you cant try on.
they are the best fitting i think.

they did run me about 18-22 dollars each v neck (including shipping which was sort of alot i thought) but still a few bucks cheaper than retail (and than at loehmanns)

i have a couple of two color raglan 3/4 length sleeve shirts/henleys (bright blue sleeve, grey torso and a dark charcoal sleeve and grey torso) these two are absolutely fabulous and the cut is awesome how it hugs in the right places. i like it a little snug. it is slim fitting and i get alot of compliments and looks.
however, the quality of the raglans are not as good as the v necks (cotton lint keeps floating off of it) is my only gripe but still very worth having a couple.

they were like 30 bux each?
i forgot. my wife has one for herself too the bright blue and grey. she looks absolutely cute.

i wish they had a bright tangerine orange with grey torso. but no.

I think he might be referring to something with kind of a goth ninja aesthetic. Rick Owens type of tees came to mind when I read his description, not a faded out cotton shirt from alternative apparel. As for finding a deal on something like that, check the sufu supermarket and maybe you will get lucky. Or you can probably search on ebay and hopefully find a seller in Asia that is selling some knock offs for cheap.
