Second Aedes de Venustas. Great store.

I can also recommned L'Artisan Parfumeur boutique on 68 Thomson Street.

The first 2 DEFINITELY have a "rosey" scent.

Une Rose literally smells like an English rose garden on an early morning after a rainstorm. its very green and very floral -- but also masculine.

there's a patchouli note in Voleur de Roses that makes it earthy, but its still also a powerful floral scent. they're both spectacular and sensuous.

Tea for Two is not at all "rosey". its much more smokey and spicy tea. even a little bit of ginger. then, after it dries down its all honey and vanilla and some divine wood. really a brilliant warm and dry fragrance for those cold autumn/winter afternoons.

i bought samples from other posters on the Basenotes forum. you should be able to find these scents on eBay or at a number of different websites that sell things like this. i can't think of any offhand but if i remember, i'll post links!

I used to hang out there, but haven't been into fragrance as much lately. I've checked out new ones from time to time and Orange County is one of the best places in the world to get fragrances as we have awesome local shops.

Theres some people that sell decants of L'Artisan on ebay, you can get them for probably $10-15 for a 0.33 oz spray decant, which is enough for months of daily use for a much cheaper price at a sneak preview. L'Artisan's shop in NY will have it, as well as the boutique at Nordstrom in SCP and other high end fragrance shops. I would agree that VdR is earthy, with a bit more than a hint of rose, but it certainly doesn't smell feminine by any means.

I wish I'd never sold my EDN but people were paying ridiculous prices on ebay after it was discontinued. I love that scent. Acier is nice too, mmmm ambergris.

Basenotes definitely interests me but as I don't feel like registering right now, can someone recommend the best place to buy scents online? In particular I'm wanting Guerilla 2 from CdG.

Just took receipt of Bond No. 9 West Broadway. Definitely recommended. Subtle and soft, smells very classy, but still distinctive enough not to disappear into the nether regions of Allure Pour Homme or Bulgari. And, it lasts well on the skin. I love Creed's fragrances but on me they seem to last all of a half hour before disappearing.

3rd. amazing store, and the packaging alone is worth buying present there.

Yohji Yamomoto pour Homme
Bulgari Black
Bulgari Green (phasing that one out)
Costume National Scent
