Sounds great. I have plenty of savory in my garden that I've been wanting to use.

frozen pig blood?

Lots of it!

Finally, my De Buyer stuff arrived -- sautoir/"straight" sauteuse, casserole, carbon steel pan and some other stuff. Seems nice so far.

I may have found a beer and wine tasting group with some undergrads that apparently are bartenders at the fancy school restaurant and apparently also lead the wine program.

Could be awesome

I needed a reservation for a popular restaurant on a popular night. Despite being well ahead of time, the only thing they had available was either 5:30 PM or 10:30 PM. Eff.

Quick call to Amex, and I'm in at 8. smile.gif

SWEET!!!! Would love to know if it will online somewhere.

They will probably have it for downloading, with subs. I don't know how long it will take for them to get it dubbed... took them like 5 years the first time around redface.gif

The original series was really great though, there are so many people who feature throughout - you see Joel Robuchon several times throughout the series, and Alain Passard and Gagnaire both battled. I don't think the new one will be able to touch the legend of the old one, they spent a ton of money on that series. I think that's why it went off the air eventually.

I'm not ashamed to admit that I wept when I first watched the series finale.

are they bringing back the chairman?
I dressed up as the chairman for Halloween in 2004.

They haven't announced any of the players yet. The Chairman still appears on TV as an actor, looks mostly the same. The Iron Chefs are all getting pretty old. Sakai keeps dying his hair and moustache but he's probably over 70 now and appears on TV once in awhile still, and the Japanese chef is ancient and probably retired. They used to have a signature canned food brand of his at convenience stores but that's off the shelves now I think. Chen Kenichi appears in random ads for things like Toyota minivans and stuff. The Italian chef doesn't get much play.
