Well, I only really tried two or three times this year, and two or three times last year. I probably could have gotten one sooner, had I been very persistent about it.

Yeah. I have a friend at Wharton who got wined and dined at Adour last summer by Deutsche Bank. He didn't even know what a langoustine was!

I tried mangosteens today after wanting to try them for years. They were actually not bad.

I thought imported ones were illegal tho? Maybe they were frozen?

i went pretty berserk last month eating mangosteens in hawaii. they're a pretty amazing fruit. lots of fruits are banned from importation into the us mainland in order to prevent the transmission of plant viruses. there is a very nasty one that is absolutely devastating the florida citrus industry right now and has been found in california. serious business.

Actually bought mangosteens today. They taste good, but I figure they weren't the most ripe ones. Dunno why I didn't eat any in Thailand.

If I lived in southeast Asia I would just eat fresh fruit every day by the metric tons

yeah ... hawaii? beaches are cool. but mangosteens, rambutans and longans? i'd go back for that.

Never been much of a beer drinker but had some good beers from local microbreweries.
There were 17 companies, about 60 different beers offered. Had 6 beers, of which 4 were good.
