The smell of freshly smoked bacon that is currently permeating the house

I am in China and two nights ago I went to an incredibly nice Japanese restaurant - it was 218 RMB for all you can eat which I'm pretty sure is expensive by their standards. I had the usual fair, some sea cucumber, oyster, boring sushi stuff, some great slices of various fishes, eels, but they had these slices of raw beef that really knocked me out - in the best sense of the word. I am a fan of rare steak. Well this was rare on a whole new level.

Tonight I had hotpot. It was very good but not spicy enough (I am from Sichuan and there are very few places even in China spicy enough for me).

Try a large, Asian market. Although I'd think in Hotlanta you could find one at a butcher?

Called a few but no luck. There is a very high-end market not too far from me, they would likely have it but it would also be $$$.

Does Whole Foods typically carry it?

No idea about WF, I never shop there. Was it butchers or Asian markets you tried?

Butcher. Closest Asian market I know of is ~35min one way. There is that Asian chain megamart that is spreading everywhere about 25 minutes away.

Do the people at your asian markets speak English? I had some questions about pig blood, and it was really hard to find anything out.

The guys behind the butcher counter do not. They do have some juicy looking pig's blood though.

Is the blood there gelled or liquid? Here it is always gelled, though I think I can mix it to get it liquid again. It is hard to ask, though, so I never buy it from the AZNs even though there are probably ten places within walkind distance from my house where I could get it.

That's all we get here is asian markets. I spoke with the butcher and he told me to add a bit of water and mix to return it to liquid. He advised straining too. I have not tried this yet, though so ymmv.
