Picked up a new 12" carbon steel (solidteknics; stupid name but great product) pan and put a light layer of seasoning on it though it comes "quenched" aka preseason already. Tossed out the last of our peeling nonstick All Clads (still have two hard anodized nonstick pans and one sauce pan for my wife because she likes nonstick) from our wedding registry and will hopefully get lots of use out of this for a long time. Love the one piece forged look too, no rivets is great.

If it works out well I might end up getting rid of my tiny Lodge cast iron and getting the 7" and 10" versions of this. Only wish the handle was a bit shorter.

When you know how to do something very well, it doesn’t feel like you’re doing anything at all.

That is a very nice feeling.

thread bump

We're crashing at a friend's condo in Hollywood for the next several weeks. Friend is inexplicably fixated on Cracker Barrel's chocolate cake proudly made with Coca Cola. And she knows there's a Cracker Barrel out in the desert where my parents live. So on the way back from a Father's Day visit we picked up a bunch of the disgusting cake slices.

We made it back to Hollywood and were about to pull into the driveway when we have to stop for a dude and his two kids walking by. I look and the dude is Daniel Patterson. I should've asked him if he wants some Cracker Barrel chocolate cake.

I like reading the title of this thread as if the ***** are covering explicit words.
