Ya, well, it says that the shirt is 37 inches through the chest and I'm 38 and a bit and I don't like shirts tight. Helping you get a good deal would certainly be nice of me but..... no. Tell you what, I'll do this with a LW tee if you do it with a LW sweatshirt. That way we both save money. Sort of.

If you're looking for an undershirt then I'd say 2xist, although this is pretty much all I wear when the temps rise. Collar stays put, very soft, and they fit pretty well IMO. You can get them cheap at discount stores too.

And if you want 2(x)ist you can simply get Target's Merona it is made by the same company and actually fits more trimmed.

Now that I've tried Alternative Apparel I can't see myself buying t shirts from anyone else. Even the 100% cotton is unbelievably butter-soft, to say nothing of the various cotton/poly blends they use. Their feel blows away all the designer tees I've had, including Helmut Lang and Margiela, as well as tees from knitwear specialists like Cruciani and Zanone. The burnout tee is an interesting variation on the plain white t shirt, with a random pattern of sheer and opaque areas. And the price (at wholesale, that is) is very easy to swallow.

Ditto on loopwheeler. I've also heard Zimmerli makes really nice tshirts, although I don't own any. For me, Brooks Brothers makes my favorite tshirt. They're really soft, fit me well, and have washed well over the 4+ years I've owned them. As a bonus, they come in a bunch of colors, and readily available in both regular and v-neck.

How do they fit? What size do you get?

Zimmerlis are great. Sizing down recommended.

Best bang for the buck - Jockey. Three pack is $21, opaque enough to wear as a t-shirt (though they are technically undershirts). Wear them, wash them, pop them in the dryer and they fit perfectly. Perfect length, arms aren't baggy, and they are very soft. Some are even made in the US.

You can find the three packs at TJ Maxx/Marshalls all the time for $12.99. They also come in black, and gray.

2Xist are also decent, though I've found they shrink a bit more.

I wear a large in American Apparel, and I ordered the same size in Alt A. The Alt A shirts are about the same length but slightly more generous in the sleeves and body. They also don't shrink as much, and I could probably size down if I was looking for a tight fit. I think they look good even when they're not so fitted, though, because the fabric is soft enough to drape well; it doesn't balloon stiffly outward and ruin a lean silhouette.

Yeah, just got my LW blue tee from jiomitori and it fits perfect, best t-shirt i have.

How much for the basic crew T? I don't see price listed on their website.

I wonder if the navy blue is indigo-dyed. Whaddaya think? Incidentally, I bought my wife a Madonna tour t-shirt printed on an alt-a shirt. Very nice. Very soft. Interesting construction.
