So, I'm going to Ft. Lauderdale next week to visit my Mom.
Her sisters ( my Aunts ) are 91 and 89 years old. Mom is 93!
I really enjoy taking them out but needless to say they are getting on in years.
My cousin and his wife will join us. He's the only one in the family that has done particularly well ( he lives on the NJ shore and has an original AC Cobra with 6,000 miles, a Pantera, and a bunch of other desirables. Good guy too. So, while we respect the buck ( we're all Jewish
) it's not the most important thing.
When my Mom was younger, I used to love to take her to the Breakers in Palm Beach. She's never remotely been a haute couture type and these days she dresses strictly for comfort. Likewise with my Aunts.
I called the Breakers and they said their most casual venue is The Seafood Bar. I could wear khakis and a Blue Blazer and they said at her age she could wear whatever she wanted.
Has anyone been to the Seafood Bar at the Breakers? Is it truly casual? Any other suggestions for an afternoon in Palm Beach? We'll also do Miami, Bal Harbour and South Beach but I know those areas fairly well. Though if anyone has a suggestion for a 93 year old gal and her "younger sisters" please post away.
Thanks All
