Thanks for all of the replies. . .I think I'll have a drink or two in the terminal and be OK. I don't think I'll ever love flying. . .but I need to at least be able to tolerate it. Virgin has wifi which should be cool. Maybe I'll post an update from flyover country.

Another vote for Virgin America. The last time (~ last year) I flew from Seattle to SF for only $39 round trip (before tax of course).
