yesterday my (8 year old) son comes home from school with 6 dollars more than when he left in the morning. he wanted to buy himself and his sisters ice cream, so he showed me the money. I asked where he got it and he said "Julie (not her name, but a girl in his class who is a nice girl from a good family) gave it to me for touching my penis". hmmmmm........
anyway, it turns out that this girl copped a feel and then offered him the money not to tell, and he took the deal. after a little bit of interigation to make sure that that was the case and nothing more sinister, I had to give the girl's father a call that basically said "hi, I am in possetion of some of your daughter's money....." I felt bad for him, it has to be an embarrising call.
I really don't think that this is a big thing at all, they are basically good kids who were fooling around. I think the bigger issue is that the girl doesn't understand the value of money that well, and my son shouldn't have taken her money. I found the whole thing funny, and now I am wondering what it will be like when I am on the other father's side one day.
