As I look closer at these links, they don't have the nice soles I saw. Will hunt for a better pic. The newer styles have more of an Italian construction.
The problem with deerskin inserts is that they feel sticky and are not as moisture and odor resistant as leather. It's a good buy if you're planning on throwing them out after a season of wear.
I have the gold cup penny loafer. I love the shoe - it looks great with everything. The quality is a little lacking though. For example, on the footbed, the junction between fore and aft sections of leather was poorly stitched. They are great shoes though, they look great and get complements everywhere - I've even been asked if they are the RL Edrics....
Very comfortable shoes. One issue I found is that they are hot with the lining. Unless you wear them without socks, you might find them too warm for Florida.
