+1 Guy came out of nowhere, actually entered the tournament with a wild card I think, and didn't even have a sponsor anymore!

Why? The guy is seeded 5th.

Had he won last year, it would have been pretty epic. But this year, while it would be an upset and an incredible run to beat 1 and 2 in the same tournament, he's hardly a nobody at this point.

I don't think Roddick is overrated anymore. He was at one point, but even then it was probably mostly just the US-based press pinning a lot of hopes on him that were outsized to reality. Even still, in a Federer-less world he'd probably own 4-5 Grand Slams by now.

As mentioned, he is a one-trick pony, but I really like the guy. I didn't originally, but over the years he's really worked hard to round out his game and he's tried so hard to get over the Fed hump by trying different styles and working on improving. Obviously he sucks on clay, but so do a lot of people (Sampras, anyone?). And he is really a heck of a nice guy. I'll take his press conferences over Federer's any day of the week. Always entertaining.

+1. He is becoming this generation's Goran (Federer = Sampras), if a little less charismatic.

I don't remember when, but Roddick and Justin Gimelstob did a press conference together a few years back that was outstanding.

I have to agree that I always enjoy Roddick's interviews and conferences. He seems like a very down to earth, humble, yet humorous guy.

Samantha Stosur has upset Serena, fighting off a match point in the process.

Novak Chokovic blows a two-sets-to-none lead and loses in five.

Soderling comes from behind to beat Berdych in 5! Really wanted the Swede to advance as (a) he has shown he can beat Rafa on clay, and (b) something about Rafa just really rubs me the wrong way. Plus, I'm a sucker for the underdog (though I guess Soderling can hardly be considered as much now, with his current ranking and form).

Really wish Juan Carlos Ferrero hadn't had those nagging injuries and crazy fiance (who by all accounts really messed with his court form), as he was really fun to watch at Roland Garros circa early 2000's.

Nadal takes it in 3 sets. I'm honestly not surprised. He probably couldn't face losing to Soderling 2x in the Open.
