An '84 CS coupe was actually my second car, but the first one I bought (with a student loan) for $2,000.00 in '94.

My first one was a '78 Malibu Classic V-8 sedan my mom bought in '80. She used for 10 years and I just kept it, as she never officially gave it to me. For years I dreamed of getting a '78 coupe...

Some poor asshole had just finished painting flames on his Malibu of this same era, when he rear-ended me while I was in my E30 (above).... that thing fell to bits in the middle of the street and my car ended up with a little golf-ball sized dent in the trunk panel and a broken taillight...

I got it just as gas was breaking a dollar a gallon. I just got my first 'real' job so I'd drive and drive and drive. It had a cd player, it had like 111,000 miles on it when I got it from my dad.

I hated that it was a truck because when I took it to college people kept asking me if I could help them move stuff- lame.

I am not mechanically inclined at all. It had problems I didn't know how to fix, it sat for about 2 months because I couldn't fix it. A guy gave me 1500 bucks for it and fixed it the next day.

I wish I had it back because right now I have a super shitty 93 jeep cherokee with a ton of problems.

Mine held up pretty fine the couple of times I rear ended someone....

Dodge D-50. Its actually a rebranded Mitubishi. A great first car in a rural setting. It was great until some dipshit ran into me. I was turning at the top of a hill, he was way over the speed limit, and he didn't have a chance to brake before he saw me. I took solace in the fact that he totalled his precious Mustang and smacked his head pretty good on the windshield since he wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

Technically, this was my first car. Still have it and really like it despite some age issues, minor design flaws, and abysmal gas consumption. Mine is the same color. 6 speed, 1.3L R2. Not much torque (~159 lb. ft.), but its pretty quick b/c its light, has good power (238hp) and doesn't redline until 9K rpm. 0-60 is about 5.8 seconds in competent hands.



This was my first vehicle. Lots of memories associated with it - some very good, some very bad. It was a good truck. If I had been more mature and taken care of it I bet it would still be running like a top. Had it for 130K miles and never had to do ANYTHING to it. Not even replace the clutch. Mine was dark blue/green with the same cheesy graphics package as the one in the picture. 5 speed, 2.3L 4-banger. It had the California emissions package which made the output about 93hp. 0-60 took somewhere north of 13 seconds.

My parents have the '86 300SD. They love the thing--it feels solid as a bank vault, but it also accelerates like one.
