Is this an improper glasses fit?

The bottom of the bridge isn't resting on her nose; rather, there is a small gap.

Generally, bottom of the bridge isn't supposed to rest on the nose. Often the frames are a bit thicker where the glasses meet the nose, (on either side, right about where they are meeting her nose) in order to make it more comfortable. There are probably exceptions but I'd say she's got it right for the glasses she's wearing.

I ask because New Wayfarers fit like that for me, but for all the Wayfarer pictures I see, the bridge rests on the wearer's nose.

I think either way is acceptable. Though it might be more proper for the bridge to rest on the nose, a universal fit isn't probable.
