Okay, so basically I shop at Jcrew Banana Republic (sometimes macys) and usually only get nice T's / sweaters occasional Polo.. But I want to expand into dress shirts, nicer jackets eventually a nice suit(s).. What should I read up on so I dont look like a fool?

This was a gift from my boss. I kept it for a few months before I just sold it. It is pretty solid. Made in USA. You can't beat the quality. If I needed a sterling silver money clip I would buy a...

I just picked this up and I am pretty pleased. Just what I expected. I am pleased with the Bark. However, I wish it was a little darker. A great deal for $35. Comparable to other belts in the...

I almost feel bad at how lazy I am responding to you since this kind of thing basically comes up every couple of days. It's not like I can really say read that book and that website and in 1 week, presto!, you'll be a stylish guy. My advice is start noticeing... pay attention to the people around you in classes, on the subway, at work, etc and see what the better dressed ones have in common and the badly dressed ones mess up all the time. Start looking at magazines like GQ, flip to high profile people who have stylists like news anchors and some select celebrities. Look at the what are you wearing pictures, many many pages of those. Then start saving pictures of items you seem commonly used, like navy blazers and boat shoes, etc and go grab some. Experiment a little, size down a little, and USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION n0ob! (I'm pretty sure there's a million of exactly the same threads)

I think the first thing to change is the fit of your clothing. Even if you don't know how to put an outfit together yet, start by buying clothes that fit your body type. Stay away from comfort fits or loose fits. Stay away from pleated pants. If you're a slim guy, start buying fitted shirts and tailored fits. Even staying within your comfort zone of banana repubic, just look at those little tags on the inside of the collar to find the fit. I think wearing clothes that fit is half the battle, you can get style over time by first emulating ppl that you think dress nice, then eventually developing your own take on it.
GOOD LUCK!
also, post some pics in this thread of what kind of stuff you wear and maybe ppl can help u critique
