I have been looking for a set of these and would like to hear some suggestions. I know that these:http://www.ralphlauren.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1882762 have been on sale since before I was born. They are ok and traditional but not special enough. I want something pleasing to the eye and touch. So far I have found that I like these:http://www.bestcrystal.com/products/...8&Category=287 Also I like these : Orrefors: http://www.crystalclassics.com/orrefors/caratdof.htm I am leaning towards Orrefors design.

Lena Bergström's Carat is a new, modern, feminine bar series. Luxurious and exclusive, the glasses stand sturdily on a heavy, diamond-cut base topped with an elegant, feminine bowl. The whole series is about glass cutting and a range of fascinating techniques that create sassy, youthful, modern glass.
That diamond on the bottom of the Orrefors is really girly.

Baccarat Harcourt offers excellent designs handmade in France. They're quite expensive however.

Riedel are more modern, more affordable.

In fact if you just want to impress your guests buy a set of subtle cut tumblers from BB&B, it'll get the job done for under $100 for a nice set of about 5-10 pieces and if one hits the floor or sink you wont be too upset.

Save the Baccarat for yourself and your wife/GF.

I love Baccarat designs:http://www.crystalclassics.com/bacca...nietumbler.htm, but I am too stingy to spend $150-170 per glass. This one is decent looking too:http://www.crystalclassics.com/kosta...ugrandedof.htm

I like the Steuben Tortoise glasses designed by Ted Muehling - similar pricing to Baccarat.

These are pretty good:

But I like simplicity.

I can recall seeing a few decent glasses posted in some of the various drinking threads as well. Might be worth a browse to see if anything catches your eye.

Go with these: http://www.crystalclassics.com/miller/sohodof.htm and the matching decanter
