Weak Euro - Has anyone noticed European stuff getting cheaper?

Just curious. Even though the euro is sliding downwards, prices on everything I've seen at local stores haven't changed. Seems like retailers are just keeping the difference instead of passing it onto the consumer. Have you noticed the same?

That is not fair, not like in Europe that every time the petrol or $ rate change, the fuel instantly goes up several cents.

I don't think you will see the benefit of a weaker Euro for another few months, clothing stores work on six month lead times. Chances are Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 you will see the payoffs.

I know I've seen the payoff with my vacation to Europe in August. As it stands right now....I've already saved roughly $500 on my hostels alone compared to the rate when I booked in November of last year. Glad I just had to put a deposit down and I'll pay the balance when I get there

how many times to retailer order, only couple times a year I would imagine, don't think they would have take advantage of it already. Also depends on if they already hedged which means quite likely locked in a higher rate than the current going one.

I think the drop would only be reflected in fresh goods, not stuff that arrived 3 months ago.

Does this give us any buying power over any good european products? If only the pound would drop to $1.18.

Considering your location, I'm amazed you're even asking that question.

There was an article in the journal a couple weeks ago about this. Saks ain't doing you any favors...and neither are the fashion houses (who, the article said, were the real culprits for not adjusting prices and keeping extra euros).

I have noticed my purchasing power on B&S has plummeted.
