Modern Tailor is now running a big sales. I want to buy a few more shirts but want to make sure I'm buying good fabrics. Can we post our recommendation of the fabric to buy on this sales?

Here is my personal recommendation base on my own experience:

P20 White and Blue checks 100s 2ply
P129 Blue and White Stripes 200s 2ply
P122 France Blue and White Stripes 80s 2ply
270301 Black and White Checks 80s 2ply

Great idea. Perhaps people could also include which fabrics that they do not recommend based on their experience (and why).

Have you seen the 300s and 400s yarn count (what they call thread count

) are those for real?

V30 Blue Oxford: Totally wrinkle free, a bit thicker than most oxford and kinda shiny. Recommended, if you don't mind the shiny shirting.
V37 Light Pink Oxford: Slightly thinner than V30, but still rather thick. Very nice color.

I too would love to know. They're not from any of the named brands they carry unfortunately.

After a total slaughter of a non-moderntailor shirt on SW&D WAYWRN, I decided I can't wear my RTW shirts anymore. I just ordered:

Blue and White Stripes / p129 /
Blue and white checks / P20 /
Light Blue Oxford / p166 /
Black and white checks / 270301 /

Thanks for the recommendations columbia92. The only one still on sale is 270301, which I got for a casual/partying look.

Maybe we should make this thread a Modern Tailor fabric recommendation thread instead of just the sale recommendation thread. I think it's a good idea.

Good:
Multi Colors Stripes / o213 - Colors look much nicer in person. Reasonably opaque. Fabric has a nice feel.

Blue, brown and white stripes / R41 - Nothing spectacular, but for the price, pretty decent. Would make a good casual shirt.

Bad:
Pink and white stripes / O85 - Much brighter in person. Fabric has a rough feel to it.

I wish my most recent order would hurry up and arrive so I can make any necessary fit adjustments before ordering more. That green gingham looked nice, too bad its off the list now.

Anybody noticed if Modern Tailor has changed the fabric that's on sales now? I could swear the fabric on sale a few days ago is different from what's on the website now.

I believe it's changed frequently.

They often change every week. However, with the mid-day sale, they said that it would be 8 days long, half the fabric in Sale 1, the other half in Sale 2. From what I'm seeing, the good selection was in Sale 1.
