Most immediate friends look down on it, but some smoke socially. I tend ot stay away from smokers, due to the fact I can't stand the smell after my mother smoking most of my childhood.

None of my friends smoke cigarettes and they look down on it. It did help make quitting a bit easier because of it.

Most of my friends are fairly indifferent to smoking. Luckily I was able to quit cold turkey 7 years ago. For all of you whose friends look down on smoking, show them this video: http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/asiapc...ex.html?hpt=T3 crazy!

One of my pet peeves, actually, are anti-smoking crusaders so no, none of the friends "look down upon" those who smoke. I don't smoke.

I am a non smoker, but I would say my friends are about half-half, and no stigmas attached to it. I can only think of one bar in Saigon that banned smoking, otherwise, you can basically smoke anywhere here.

Since weed came up, I will partake when it gets passed around, but I don't seek it out. If that counts, then I think all of my friends smoke weed, some a lot more than others of course.

I'm the only person in my group of friends that doesn't smoke, unless you count my boyfriend, but since he hates my friends, I wouldn't.
