LOL. Yeah, to be honest, the best shoes I've seen in this vein are basically Generic Surplus style shoes: simple canvas, simple soles, no logo/trademark/whatever (yeah, vans and chucks). Even the boots I linked are still pretty ******* ugly, but I've got another use in mind for them. I think it's just the variety of canvas they offer that I wish I would see more of in my canvas shoes..

I just picked these P.F. Flyers from 6pm this week. Super comfortable compared to the main shoes I've been wearing (chucks), but I hope the shinyness disappears with wear.

Oddly enough, there is a German Army Trainer for outdoor use (gelandeschuhe?) (as opposed to the white/gum sole indoor shoes everyone knows and loves) that looks like these, like a Puma... in all blue.

Circa is a skater brand, but I think this pair (Circa 50 classic) is pretty understated and not overly branded.

I wear them sockless with shorts.

You might want to size up one. I wear 7.5 in most shoes and wear an 8.5 or 9 in CR.

I'm 8 to 8.5 usually, and 9 in creative rec is a little tight on me. Definitely size up.
