Just checked a pair of regular keds (white canvas plimsols), there is some insert pad but appears to be glued.

Ah, good to know. Probably applies to Pro-Keds only.

Converse Jack Purcell come with a removable insole and the insole is much more substantial than most other converse.

Anyone have any info on the quality/sizing of these WeSC cloptons? http://www.endless.com/WeSC-Clopton-Lace-Up-Fashion-Sneaker/dp/B005215PXO

I'm trying to decide between these in all white or white with gum sole and the leather purcells. I'll be taking a trip where I'll be walking a lot and wearing slim jeans and chinos. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can anyone recommend any brands with a wider fit? I have wide feet and sizing is hit-or-miss for me. Converse usually doesn't fit, Adidas is always a crapshoot (Originals don't fit, but Rod Laver's are great), Seavees fit, but WeSC doesn't.

I don't live near any stores with an interesting selection, so I'm stuck buying online, which is always frustrating because most place don't really do a good job of describing width; or, widths are just too narrow.

I'd consider brands like CP or MMM, but the risk is so high and I can't try on in-person that I've limited myself to places like Amazon or Zappos with easy returns.

Any suggestions would be great.

Many retailers with returns carry CP and MMM.... Mr. Porter, Forward, Revolve, etc.

i have fairly wide feet and MMM true to size work well.

Thanks. I hoped they had made some blacked (or whited) out, but no, they didn't.
