I wonder if it would have still been stolen if she hadn't made such a big fuss about how valuable and expensive it was when refusing to go through...or if her little song and dance about her own wealth was what drew attention to it for whoever nabbed it.

At times I've travelled back and forth to the US from Toronto every week, at other times every couple of months. Greasing the palm is expected in some places ... but the US/Canadian border ain't one of 'em.
