2.75" Tie

Hi

Where's a good place (online store) to buy 2.75 inch ties for at most $50 dollars? JCrew has nice ones but for me $50 is too much...buy two and you already spent $100 TT_TT

Thanks!

J. Crew ties seem like they're always on sale for ~$25.

What patterns do you want? I've got a coupe I want to get rid of. Ebay is also a good bet. A good tie collection can be easily amassed without paying retail.

Mountain and Sackett do a bunch of ties in that width but this herringbone number is the only one below $50.

Bump - it seems like 2.75" / 3.0" ties are the hardest to find, yet probably look the best on most people (not too wide, not too skinny).

Any ideas for online or brick & mortar retailers of this tie size?

If $50 is too much for one tie then you need to head to a store like Macy's.

Disagree. This is on the skinny side. 3.25"-3.5" are the more classic middle of the road widths (although it's not like skinny ties are anything new, they have been around for a long time - but 2.75" is definitely on the skinny side).

2.75 is my favorite width. For high end, Drake's makes 7cm widths. I think Ralph Black Label ties are 3". J Crew used to do 2.75" but I think they are even narrower now. Brooks Bros used to make a "University" line which was 2.75". Those show up on eBay sometimes.

They're not that hard to find at all.

Thom Browne, Black Fleece, Engineered Garments, Brooks Brothers slim, and there are several others escaping me at the moment.

Problem is, it's gonna be hard for OP to find any of those for 50 beans.

Black Fleece goes for about 50 bucks on Ebay. Probably BB slim, too, but I've never looked. The others will still cost over 50.

Also, I think 2.75 is definitely considered a skinny tie and agree with the person who said 3.25 is basically your middle of the road tie width.

It all comes down to your body size. For decently "average" male body types like me (6'0" and 185lbs), 2.75-3.00" is pretty much spot-on perfect...it's not too wide, but not too skinny. Best way to describe it is a "modern fit" tie width. A far cry from the 2.0-2.5" skinny tie.

It's truly wild how that 0.25"-0.5" makes all the difference.

Also can add Hugo Boss to the list. I remember seeing 3" ties there as well.

The Knottery sells 3" knit ties made in Italy for $30, and they're pretty great.

Are you sure? I thought The Knottery's knit ties were made in China? I bought one last year and I didn't like it, though ymmv...
