Yeah they are OK - better then i expected. I believe you need to purchase nicotine for them seperately tho. The thing thats great about them is that they produce just steam so there aren't really any laws against smoking them anywhere i believe.

I've been using one for a while now. Wasn't much of a smoker before using it (3-4 cigarettes a day) but I very rarely touch a real cigarette now. It's nice for the oral fixation, and some of the flavors are pretty good. You can vary the nicotene levels to suit your addiction.

I use a DSE901. It's pretty simple and comes in three pieces. Batteries last about two hours of pretty heavy smoking, the atomizers last a couple weeks, and the cartridges are about 4-5 cigarettes worth of puffs. Typical day I go through 2-3 batteries and 3-4 cartridges. The batteries recharge pretty quick and the cartridges are about $0.75 a piece if you buy them prefilled. I just buy the liquid and refill the cartridges myself to save money.

PM me and I'll let you know where I bought mine, I've had good luck with my supplier so far. I don't feel like posting a blatant advertisement for them here.

So you mean that thing has you significantly more addicted to nicotine than when you were smoking regular cigarettes? That sounds terrible.

Oh, I wrote this in the other smoking thread, but I used it for a while (bummed off a friend) Pros -"smoke" indoors -more safe - you get your "fix" lol -no residual smoke odor -no stained teeth or fingers or mouth Cons -you dont get the smoking taste, the taste of smoking -it just really isnt the same but I can help from time to time.

Is that why I haven't seen his e-cigarette around the office lately?

FDA deemed them still dangerous with many toxins/carcinogens. Seems the main benefit is smoking indoors which i guess is good for people who work in an office building

Well, I use the lowest nicotene content liquid available, so I'm not sure if it has gotten me more addicted. If anything it has just spread out the amount of nicotene I'd get through 3 cigarettes across the whole day. With the e-cig, I can take a few puffs at the bus stop while I'm waiting and not worry about having to waste half of a cigarette if the bus comes early.

Not sure about the FDAs claims regarding e-cigarettes. Many people in the e-cigarette community claim that those tests they ran were very biased and pseudo-scientific. Obviously that's a biased source as well, but it's food for thought.

Given that the amount of chemicals in cigarettes are well known, I don't see how someone could not view e-cigarettes as a viable "harm reduction" option. The only chemicals in the vaporized liquid are propylene glycol (used in a lot of foods and medications), the nicotene, and the flavoring. I'd compare smoking an electronic cigarette to extended exposure to theater fog...

I smoke 0.1mg Dunhills, yes, that is a decimal point, lol. I'm not sure if I still actually 'smoke' with these things....

My brother in law has one. He insists it satisfies the emotional/muscle memory part of the habit while allowing him to gradually work on the nicotine part.

But he's quit smoking before and always started, so it's obviously an open question whether it will work long-term.

I tried it, it sucks.

Not very satisfying.
