Black paintwork vs Midnight Blue

I wondered if the same benefits of having midnight blue as a colour, over black, would hold true for a car's paintwork, as well as for clothes.

Is midnight blue a great colour, and greater than black?

I want to get a new Audi A4 soonish for a company car (small timer I know), and next Summer a Porsche cayman for a fun car

Thanks All

The original reason for midnight blue in a tux had to do with a change in lighting so the technical reasons don't equate.

That said... I think the current deep blue pearl audi is using is gorgeous. If I ever get around to getting the A5 that would likely be the color.

The A5 is a lovely company car, I'd love to get one. Perhaps if I wait until October, and see how much the 1 year old models are then selling at!

Beyond the A5 and more costly but still reasonable, I really like the Jaguar XJ. I think that would make a great company car for me.

I wonder if a burgundy/ oxblood interior would work with the Audi blue pearl paintwork.

No such color option on the US interiors.

Closest option is what they call "cinnamon" which in a mid-brown. Otherwise it's blacks, grays and a light tan/beige on the standard A's.

The S5 does have a "Magma Red" option.
