Dad retired from 35 years of government service in January, and my 61-year-old folks spent all of September in Amsterdam shopping for a boat. Got an email from them just this morning; four hours ago they wired funds to purchase this:

Five to six months out of every year until they croak, they'll be on that thing somewhere on a canal in Western Europe. It is the opposite of luxurious but they're happy with it.

barge living can be fairly luxurious if done correctly... honestly to live well you do not need that much space...if you think you need a 500+ squre metre space to live in luxury you are either a dolt or see luxury as somehting to show off more than use.

barge living at least my limited knowldegt of it is completley different.... the interior is more importnt than the exterior. i would not rule out living on boat but on barge yes( i never see myelf going back to europe on to live.) but with a 25 metre sailboat would work.

That's pretty awesome man.
Yeah that's kind of a problem when discussing living on a yacht, most people just think about mega yachts.

Any idea of how it is like in the inside? Appliances, beds, rooms, etc.

It seems roughly the same size as an RV on the inside. Check it out.

Thanks for the pics mate.
I'l shoot for a Sunseeker Manhattan 63. Around 2.5million for a used one. Even used ones are great quality.
I hope I can get that within 10 years. Wish me luck.
