Played an almost awesome round and I didn't die of a heat stroke. Great Success! I was 2 over most of the day, should have hit a few putts and that could have been lower. Hit a wall on 15 and the heat finally got to me and I couldn't hardly make a good swing to save my life. Finished with bogey, bogey, double, bogey. I did drain a 12 footer to cap off the day, which felt nice considering I hadn't really made a solid putt all day.

a small rant: please people... don't just sit on the green for 30 minutes putting. also, if it's backed up... don't take practice putting shots before getting off the green. i don't care if you suck, but dont' make me wait 3 - 4 minutes every shot before you get off the green... ESP @ 2 PM when it's 105 degrees outside!

I play in high heat. Then again it just feels normal to me so I kinda like it.

I went to the range yesterday. It was the first time in about a month I've swung a club (I had some stitches in my hand that needed to heal up).

I hit better yesterday than I can ever remember hitting. I was accurate and making solid contact. Plus my short game was solid (though I didn't work on that as much as I should have), and my putting was great. The putting was most reassuring, given I'd taken a step or two backwards recently with it. I changed my stance a bit, and it seems to have worked.

I have a tee time for this coming Sunday, so we'll see if the improvement I saw at the range was a legitimate step forward or a fluke. Here's hoping it's the former!

Yeah, the heat thing isn't so bad if you're used to it. In the summer I try to play in the morning to avoid some of it, but then it's even more humid.

i played 9 yesterday, and it was brutal. 110 with the head index. I was going to die. On the par 3's where the water was, there was a nice breeze but that still didn't do me any good. walked away with a 44. horrific driving day, was just too hot and uncomfortable all day. should have stuck with the 4 iron off the tee.

I was out at the Women's US Open in Colorado this weekend. Those women are awesome. They can absolutely play. The course was rated at 155 slope and 7100+ yds. Also, a lot of very beautiful young ladies. A nice looking woman that can play some serious golf is quite a turn on for me. Some of my favorites were Natalie (of course), Bea Recari from Spain, Morgan Pressel, Jessica Korda, Sandra Gal, many of the young Koreans, Christi Kerr... I can't wait until my next opportunity.

I always start out the round driving strong and by 14 or 15 i just lose focus/energy and cant drive it straight to save my life.

Anybody want to post up swing videos? I took a few at the range yesterday and was fairly pleased with how mine looks. I could stand to make a few changes, but it's not too bad.

Oh and what does every one think of The Open?? Today is def going to be interesting with the weather. I'm pulling for Dustin Johnson.

i lived in texas for ~10 years so i'm cool with the heat... i'm just not cool with the combination of heat & people dicking around with no manners... give me one or the other and i'll tolerate it but give me both and it makes me ffffuuuu.gif

i'm game. i've been working on reducing my swing tempo... i realized that i'm not the gunslinger i used to be in high school (but i'm only 23! frown.gif), and my transitions at impact aren't keeping up with the muscle memory in high school... however, when i do crush drives... boy... are they beautiful... 290 yarders.

my money is on luke donald for the open

I used to play back in high school, just graduated college, so it's been a while since I've been competitive. I was at one point a 1.3 hdcp and played pretty competitively, but I kind of just tired of it. Seems that the muscle memory for full swings is always there when I play (rarely now) but it's the touch around the greens that just leaves me. The work in the gym though has paid off, my clubhead speed's up in the 118 range from the 114 I was at when I was ~16, but now I'm an 80s shooter (no time to work on the touch shots), so it's all just fun and games, and besides, now I can drink beer on the course.
