Never played anything more than flag football. But I'm a pretty decent athlete.

6'4" 250 lbs. Around a 4.9 40. Can rep out 225 26 times.

That's my current time without any specific training for speed. So, I'm sure I could bring it down. Any ideas on what time I would need to be competitive (on that measure and assuming I'm not going for DL/OL)?

Nothing to lose right? So why the fuck not.

What position? I'd assume LB/DE, maybe TE. There are players in the NFL that run 4.7 at these positions, but they are incredibly skilled and still have a very explosive first step to compensate for their lack of top end speed.

I guess it can't hurt to try out if you are in fact that big and strong. But maybe hire a football specific trainer or train with some D1 athletes that know how to train for 3 cone drills and the like.

What sports have you done in the past?

Its not like I'm going to quit my day job or anything, even if I made the 1 in a 1,000 chance. But, it might be fun to do the training and conditioning that leads up to it and to participate, even if I have no shot.

Basketball, baseball, and soccer for all my youth through high school. Unfortunately, none at the collegiate level. I never had a serious interest in playing sports, but I've always been into working out, etc.

Yeah. Might as well try out. What else are you going to do? Talk to us fags all day? boring. At least this way you can say you tried out for a professional sports team.

Would it hurt my rep if I start discussing SF and i-gent with all the guys at the tryouts?

not having a serious interest in playing sports may be an issue.
