Google's new logo page for today, What do you think?

So, I get to work and I boot up. Google is on my start page.

I get this intrusive monstrosity!

I sure hope it's just for today.

While I guess it's not NSFW, I find it really intrusive.

What do you guys think?

I'm the boss here ( for what it's worth! ) and can do whatever I like.

But I think it would not be good for someone in a cubicle to open to the Google page and hear sirens.

That's so cool.

I love Pacman but this is too gimmicky.

What's wrong with it? I got Pac-Man.

Is there a sound issue? My speakers are turned off at the moment.

I think it's hilarious. And yes, it plays the classic PacMan theme music.

I love it.

I realize that it's a contest among children. And this was the winner ( at least for today ). But would you love this as the Google start page everyday? With the siren sounds.

Google changes logo pages more often than they have the regular logo. So why would anyone think that this one would stay around forever?

The bottom line is that the music ruins it. It makes it a risk for people with jobs. I don't care - like I said I personally really like Pacman and never have speakers on in the office. But generally speaking it is just not a good call on Google's part.

Is it really important? No, it doesn't really matter at all. But the OP asked, so if I have to decide on this being a net positive or negative, I go with negative.

Cool! I'm going to have to turn on my speakers to check it out.

In case you haven't noticed, it's not just a logo. You can play it, too. I cleared the first level and died on the second, 5790 points.

Goodbye, productive Friday.

Stopped at 27,000 points, completed four(?) levels, one life left. I heard footsteps.

Uh, Yes I have noticed that Google changes logo pages. I doubt they do it more often than their classic "brand" page. I remember St Paddy's Day and Valentines start pages and I'm sure there are others ( Xmas, President's Day, etc. ). But more than1/2 the time, no way!

+1

A brand is ultra important.

I know GDL thinks I "over reacted " but Dell Computer blew 100s of millions if not Billions with a conscious decision of brand diminution. BTW: This has nothing to do with thread ( which I started ) other than I hope this never happens to Google. I like them a lot.

Does it have the little animations in between some of the levels? I cleared the first level, but it takes forever because the board is so huge.
